Seven Deadly Sins

This project was created for my Graphic Processes class.
For this project, we were instructed to create a 20 page tabloid newspaper on the topic of the Seven Deadly Sins or the Seven Heavenly Virtues. I chose the Seven Deadly Sins and the approach of the effects social media has on its users. With each sin or virtue, we had to provide seven different compositions that communicates our ability to create digital and analogue images. We then sent our newspaper for print to the Newspaper Club in Scotland, United Kingdom, on 55gsm paper.

Here is the provided list of required compositions for each sin.
Lust - Analogue collage
Gluttony - Typographic solution
Greed - Personal photograph
Sloth - Personal photograph in duotone
Wrath - Photographed object
Envy - Found photograph with hand lettered text
Pride - Constructed image with hand lettered text

The cover image was taken by Rodion Kutsaev. I chose this as it relates to my objective on the effect social media has on its users by using a cell phone to symbolize this.
Gluttony
This is my typographic solution for Gluttony. I chose the word addiction and used the font provided, Whitney Sans. By arranging the letters in a strategically, I wanted to express how addiction might feel.
Wrath
In the image, the model is holding a newsletter page that is on fire. By creating the content on the page, I wrote a headline of the effects overconsumption from social media can cause. To incorporate wrath, I chose fire to symbolize this due to its rapid and organic nature onto the newsletter.
Pride
This is my constructed image for pride that includes elements one might use to portray their "perfect" self in media. Other "broken" elements are portrayed similarly to show its lifeless nature it holds to the entire composition.
